Foxtail millet Khichdi
Ingredients:
- Foxtail millet - 1 cup
- Moong dal - 3/4 cup
- Ghee - 2 tsp.
- Jeera - 1/2 tsp.
- Kalonji - 1/4 tsp.
- Bay leaf - 1 leaf
- Green chilli - 1
- Turmeric - 1/4 tsp.
- Salt - to taste
Procedure:
- In a pressure pan, heat ghee, add jeera, kalonji and bayleaf. Add the chopped green chilli.
- Add moong dal and roast for 2-3 minutes.
- Add foxtail millet and roast for another minute.
- Add around 4-5 cups of water, salt and turmeric powder.
- Close the lid and wait for 3-4 whistles.
- Stir well and serve.
